Standing Quadriceps Self Stretch

  1. Stand next to a wall for balance
  2. Grip the stretch leg at the ankle with your hand on the same side of the body
  3. Draw the ankle towards the buttock
  4. Ensure as you do this your trunk does not bend forwards or to the side
  5. Make sure when the knee is fully bent to achieve the stretch’ the knee aligns with the other knee
  6. It should not be forward’ back or separated from the other leg
  7. End position is achieved when the heel contacts the buttock or you feel a stretch in the front of the thigh
